Lahore, 28th July: The number of coronavirus cases has crossed 4000 for the first time in two months after 4,119 new positive cases emerged in Pakistan.

According to the data from the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the daily COVID-19 case count jumped over 4000 on Wednesday after 4,119 fresh cases were reported.

Last time, Pakistan recorded more than 4000 daily cases on May 22.

According to the latest reports from NCOC, in the last 24 hours, 52,291 coronavirus tests were taken out of which, 4,119 turned positive.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 44 people lost their lives to the deadly virus, pushing the national death toll to 23, 133.

Hence, the current positivity rate across the country has risen up to 7.8%. Whereas the total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 1,015,827.

Furthermore, in the last 24 hours, 7,020 patients have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 935,742 while the number of active cases is 56,952.

As per reports from the health ministry, the death rate in Pakistan during the month of July crossed the global death rate figures.

Earlier this week, Pakistan’s COVID-19 death rate in July was between 2.30% and 2.37%, according to data shared by the World Health Organisation. However, the death rate across the world in July was between 2.15% to 2.17%.
