Court reserves decision concerning the ban on political gatherings

According to the report of Baaghi TV, the Lahore High Court heard the petition for curbing processions and political gatherings.
The Lahore High Court has reserved the decision regarding the ban on political gatherings, and whether the petition was admissible. The federal and provincial government, Election Commission, PTI, Muslim League and PPP have been made parties in the petition.
The petition asks the court to order a ban on all kinds of political gatherings, meetings and processions.

It should be noted that the General Secretary of the Young Doctors Association, Dr. Salman Kazmi, in his petition filed in the Lahore High Court, expressed concern that the lives of the citizens are in grave danger due to Coronavirus, as Corona is not over yet. The petition pointed out that, due to political gatherings, there is a serious risk of furthering the Corona outbreak.

Petitioner Dr. Salman Kazmi stated in the petition that the political parties are not taking precautionary measures against Corona, and the required SOPs are not being implemented. The petition requested that the LHC should order a ban on such gatherings.
