Lahore, 10th January: Sinopharm company in China seeks approval from Pakistan for COVID vaccine trials.
Baaghi TV: According to reports, China’s Sinopharm has sought permission from Pakistan to use its COVID-19 vaccine in the country.
A state-run Chinese firm, Sinopharm, is developing two COVID-19 vaccines.
According to sources, Sinopharm has applied for registration of its coronavirus vaccine to the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP).
Sources at the health ministry informed that the session of the DRAP registration board is expected to be held the next week.
The registration board will likely to approve the vaccine for emergency use in Pakistan, sources said.
As per sources, the approval from the Drug Regulatory Authority will allow the use of the Chinese vaccine in Pakistan.
Earlier, it was reported by Baaghi TV that Pakistan had announced to purchase 1.2 million doses of the corona vaccine from China.

According to recent reports, the death toll in Pakistan has become more than 10,000 and the number of confirmed cases has crossed 500,000 figure.
It is to be noted that Pakistan is running phase III clinical trials of another Chinese vaccine from CanSino Biologics which is led by the National Institute of Health.
