COVID-19: Areas in Lahore under Micro-Smart Lockdown

Lahore, 9th November: Fearing the second wave of coronavirus following a sudden surge in the number of positive cases, the Punjab government has enforced micro-smart lockdown in Lahore.

Baaghi TV: It has been decided to install micro-smart lockdown in 15 areas of Lahore.

These areas include:

  • C Block in Muslim Town
  • Raza Block and Sikandar Block in Allama Iqbal Town
  • Omar Block in Cavalry Ground
  • 2 blocks of Defence phase 6
  • Block B in HBFC
  • 2 streets of Askari XI
  • Anarkali
  • Some areas of Mozang
  • Shadman
  • Some areas of Gulshan-e-Ravi

Following areas have been sealed to contain the spread of the coronavirus. The surge was witnessed particularly after the violation of the COVID-19 guidelines at public places, government offices, and business points.

According to the NCOC, in the last 24 hours, 1,650 new cases of coronavirus have been reported and 9 deaths have occurred. The total number of coronavirus patients in Pakistan has reached 344,839 while the number of deaths has risen to 6,977.

In Pakistan, 318,881 COVID-19 patients have recovered and 18,981 are undergoing treatment so far.

The National Command and Operations Center has made it mandatory to wear a mask to prevent coronavirus in Pakistan. Masks will be required for those working in government and private sector offices. Provincial governments have been directed to make SOPs and masks mandatory in markets, shopping malls, public transport, restaurants.
