COVID-19: New orders issued under Section 144 across Punjab

Lahore, (10th April): New orders have been issued in relation to section 144 across Punjab regarding the lockdown restrictions.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, in order to prevent the Coronavirus, IG Punjab, Shoaib Dastur has amended section 144 and issued new orders. The published post has been sent to CCPO Lahore, CPOs, RPOs and DPOs.

According to the orders issued, all markets, shopping malls, restaurants will remain closed. Major departmental stores will keep the grocery and pharmacy sections opened, all departmental stores will disinfect trolleys used for commodities. LPG shops and filling plants will also remain open.

The post states that social, religious or political gatherings are completely banned, one person can travel on a private car, two people can accompany the patient in case of a medical emergency, and only 2 members of a family can go out and get essential medicines or groceries.

The restaurants will, however, remain closed and only home delivery is allowed from the the cafes and restaurants. The cement makers will use the staff in their colony while only the much-needed staff will work in the banks.
