Chinese scientists working on a COVID-19 vaccine are “99%” sure it will be effective and are hoping to produce 100 million samples. Sinovac, a Beijing-based biotechnology company, is carrying out a trial with more than 1,000 volunteers and is preparing to hold stage 3 experiments in the United Kingdom (UK). Luo Baishan, a researcher at Sinovac, is very optimistic and claims this vaccine to be “99%” effective and useful. A commercial plant is already under construction in Beijing and it is hoped 100 million doses can be produced.
