Crisis in the Middle East: United States disturbs regional peace

Iran (3rd Jan, 2020): United States disturbs peace in the region by targeting General Qassem Suleimani. 

According to reports of Baaghi TV, the Secretary General of the Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslim Punjab, Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi, in response to the martyrdom of General Qassem Suleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, has stated that the death of general Qassem Suleimani is deeply rooted in the heart of the Muslim Ummah. He has further argued that the United States has placed regional peace under threat.

Moreover, Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi has stated that the martyrdom of the great sons of Islam in the hands of the devil America is the beginning of a new war against the Muslim Ummah. He further stated that the world nations offer condolences for the victims and leader of the world, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei.

Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi added that the United States was deeply hurt by the defeat of ISIS in Iraq and Syria and was looking for an opportunity to target Iran. Allama Asadi further states that the United States has cut the great arm of the Islamic nation and must now pay its revenues. He further stated that the Islamic nation is against the unholy ambitions of the United States and stands behind Iran, the dominant Islamic country.

At least nine people, including Iranian general, Qassem Suleimani were killed in a US airstrike at the Baghdad airport. According to reports of Iraqi media, the leader of the pro-Iranian militia Al-Hashid al-Shabaabi was also killed in the strike.

It should be noted that on the 30th of December, the US military carried out airstrikes on Iranian-backed militias in Iraq and Syria, according to US Defense Secretary Mark Esper. Referring to further measures against Iran, Mark Esper said the US was ready for further actions against Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister, Jawad Zarif, has responded to the US attack in Baghdad, saying that the attack on General Suleimani is global terrorism, and that the United States will have to suffer the consequences. An urgent meeting of the top security body has also been called in Iran on suspensions.

According to the US Department of Defense Pentagon, the killing of General Suleimani was ordered by US President Donald Trump, which took action.
