Death penalty in child sexual abuse cases proposed
PESHAWAR: A proposal has been prepared to impose the death penalty on the perpetrators of child sexual abuse cases. According to Baaghi TV reports, the Child Protection Amendment Bill 2022 has been drafted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will be presented in the next session of the Assembly for approval. The draft proposes the death penalty for child sexual abuse cases. In addition, the bill also proposes a fine of Rs.20 to Rs.50 lakh in cases of sexual abuse of children. The proposed bill also suggests that the convict will not be entitled to any pardon. Earlier, DG FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) Cyber Crime Wing Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Shoaib had revealed that child pornography has become a lucrative business in Pakistan. According to reports, child pornography from Pakistan goes as far as the international mafia.
