PESHAWAR: A proposal has been prepared to impose the death penalty on the perpetrators of child sexual abuse cases.

According to Baaghi TV reports, the Child Protection Amendment Bill 2022 has been drafted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will be presented in the next session of the Assembly for approval.

The draft proposes the death penalty for child sexual abuse cases. In addition, the bill also proposes a fine of Rs.20 to Rs.50 lakh in cases of sexual abuse of children.

The bill also proposes 10 years imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs.7 million for making videos pertaining to child pornography. The proposed bill also suggests that the convict will not be entitled to any pardon.

What is pornography?

According to the provisions of the Child Pornography Act of the Anti-Electronic Crimes Act 2015, if a person makes a pornographic image or video of a child, or does so during sexual exploitation, the maker, seller, or transmitter of the image will have been committing a crime.

The penalty for which is a maximum of seven years imprisonment or a fine of Rs.50 lakhs, or both. The parents or guardians of the affected child may also request that the relevant material be removed from the Internet.

Similarly, if someone makes, shares, or sells nude photos or videos of an adult, he/she is also committing a crime. The penalty is three years imprisonment or a fine of Rs.10 lakh, or both.

Upon receiving a ​​complaint, the FIA ​​summons the complainant after which the application is confirmed and an affidavit is taken.

According to cybercrime law, if a person harasses someone on social media or the internet including the use of crude language, or acting in a way that causes stress, then he/she can be sentenced to three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs.10 lakh.
