Decision to Install Cameras on Entrances and Exits of Karachi

A Provincial Apex Committee headed by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has made a decision to install CCTV cameras at the entrances and exits of Karachi.

According to details, the meeting of Provincial Apex Committee was held after 18 months under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and was attended by senior civil and military officials.

The Apex Committee meeting was briefed on the implementation of 16 points of the National Action Plan. It was informed in the briefing regarding madrassas in the meeting that there are 8,195 madrassas and imam bargahs in Sindh.

The committee, while taking the decision to register the madrassas as educational institutions, said that now the madrassas would be registered by the education department, which in the past was registered by the endowments and industries department under various laws.

The Law Secretary informed the participants that the High Court was being consulted for the drafting of a new law on elimination of street crime. The Sindh Chief Minister said that it was not enough to just make a law but its full implementation was necessary.

Murad Ali Shah said that street crime cases should be framed in such a way that the accused are punished and a request should be made to the High Court to appoint a separate judge for hearing street crimes.

Participants were informed that 12 CPEC projects are underway in Sindh in which 2,500 Chinese citizens are working, about 4,500 personnel are working on the security of these Chinese staff. Moroever, around 136 non-CPEC projects are running in Sindh.
