Lahore: Former gold medallist hockey olympian Rashid-ul-Hassan has termed it a shameful act to the defeat of Pakistan team in Junior Hockey World Cup.
Addressing media reporters in his hometown Gojra, he said it was a matter of concern that Pakistan remained on just 11th position in this tournament.
He added that the )Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) president and secretary have destroyed the national game just to fulfil their own designs and did not take proper steps to promote hockey game.
He further stated that there should not be any justified expectation from PHF secretary who already had allegations of human trafficking against him.
It was further ashamed that Pakistan could never win junior world cup after 1979.
He said he was proud that he was the part of that Pakistan team which won this cup in 1979.
He urged the prime minister Imran Khan to take serious notice of the ugly race of getting offices in PHF which caused the destruction of hockey in Pakistan.
He said it was pity that millions of rupees were being wasted by PHF in the so called name of promotion and  betterment of hockey. He advised PM to use his powers as chief patron of PHF to take steps to ensure the best use of money being wasted by PHF.
