DG ISPR addresses media on current situation in Afghanistan
Lahore, 27th August: DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar is having an important press conference on the current situation in Afghanistan.
According to the report of Baaghi TV, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar addressed an important media briefing on Friday and said that security measures are being taken in the context of the situation in Afghanistan.
Starting with his address, Major General Babar Iftikhar said that the situation created in Afghanistan yesterday at the Kabul Airport was unpredictable.

DG ISPR informed that Pakistan had already started taking steps, as we had stopped illegal crossings, all points are closed now.
He added that steps have already been taken to secure the border, Pakistan side of the border is completely safe. He assured that the Pakistan-Afghanistan border situation is fine and no incident has occurred so far. Hence, troops have been deployed at checkpoints to deal with the situation.
Major General Babar Iftikhar further said that appropriate steps have been taken for peace in Pakistan, illegal movement on the border has been stopped.
It may be noted that there are 78 crossing points on the Pak-Afghan border.
