“Dhoop Kinarey” to be Telecast in KSA
Baaghi TV: PTV blockbuster Dhoop Kinarey is ready for being broadcast in Saudi Arabia with Arabic dubbing. According to an international media report, since the trip last year of Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry to KSA, there had been news circulating that Pakistani dramas will be dubbed in Arabic and telecast there, in order to strengthen relations between the two countries. This was a part of the cultural exchange between Islamabad and Riyadh to be commenced after Fawad Chaudhry’s trip.
For this purpose, three most popular Pakistani dramas had been shortlisted; namely Dhoop Kinarey, Tanhaiyan, and Aahat. However, the translation and dubbing of Tanhaiyan and Aahat got delayed due to the budget constraints of Pakistan Television. The supervisor of the project, Dr Lubna Farah, has said that the dubbing of Dhoop Kinarey is complete and now it is ready for broadcast in Saudi Arabia.
Minister of Information Shibli Faraz, while refusing to vouchsafe further details, told Arab News that work has been resumed on this project and soon broadcasters in KSA and UAE will be able to show it on their channels.
However, PTV’s Controller International Affairs, Muhammad Idrees, said that it is not yet clear when work on the two suspended dramas will resume, and he also said that it is up to the ministry of information when and where to send these dramas.
PTV’s former Director of International Affairs Shazia Sikander said that the project was started three years ago and the other two dramas Tanhaiyan and Aahat became victim to the shortage of funds.

On the other hand, Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has also tweeted that Dhoop Kinarey is ready for being broadcast in KSA after Arabic dubbing. It should be clear that this is the first project in which PTV has dubbed a local production for viewership in KSA. This is part of the liberal policies of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and his constant work in providing entertainment for the Saudi public.
