Did not expect such an extraordinary success around the world for Ertugrul: Ajan Altan

Turkish actor Ajan Altan Duzyatan, who played the lead role in the Turkish drama series “Derelis Ertugrul” based on the Muslim Islamic conquests, says that he had never thought that the drama “Ertugrul” would be such an extraordinary success around the world.

Baaghi TV: The drama based on the life of Turkish General Ertugrul Ghazi, ‘Derelis Ertugrul’ was a success in Turkey after its release and the series became popular all over the world through Netflix. Ever since it has been released in Pakistan this drama has broken all records of success.

The drama serial ‘Derelis Ertugrul’ has been dubbed in Urdu on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan and is being aired on PTV under the name ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ from the first of Ramadan and its story and characters captivate Pakistanis so much that Pakistani’s love for this drama have spread all over the world.

Recently, the main character of the play, Ajan Altan Duzyatan, who has played the role of Ertugrul Ghazi, has given an interview to the British broadcaster BBC Asian Network. The BBC host asked Ajan that when you were shooting this drama, did you think that this drama would be such an extraordinary success and people would love it so much?

“When we were shooting the play, we knew in the beginning that it would be a memorable series, but we didn’t think it would be such an extraordinary success,” said the actor. But we’re glad Ertugrul is so popular.

The host said that after Ertugrul’s worldwide hit, many people want to come to Turkey and learn about it. Asked by the host, Ajan Altan said that the fact that Turkey’s popularity has increased since the series is a good news.

The host said that ‘Derelis Ertugrul’ is being dubbed in Urdu and is being aired in Pakistan where this series has broken all records of popularity. What do you think could be the reason for Pakistanis to like this series so much?

“I think both the Pakistani and Turkish people like well-crafted stories,” said Altan.

The host asked that you have played the role of ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ in the play. Which of his qualities inspired you the most?

In response to this question, Altan said, “I was impressed by Ertugrul Ghazi’s thinking. The purpose of his life was very much influenced by his power and his principles. He was an admirable person. I am very happy that I presented Ertugrul Ghazi’s life on TV.”

It should be noted that the Turkish series based on the history of Islamic conquests, ‘Dirlish Ertugrul’ also known as Turkey’s Game of Thrones, is currently being watched around the world.

The story of ‘Dirlish Ertugrul’ play predates the establishment of the Ottoman Empire in the 13th century and revolves around a brave Muslim general named Ertugrul, also known as Ertugrul Ghazi. The play is about the father of Osman I, the founder of the Ottoman Empire. Ertugrul’s pre-Ottoman rule shows bravery and love.
