Double Standards and Hypocrisy by Minister Shireen Mazari

Lahore, 24th December: Why is the minister of human rights endorsing people involved in exploiting the ‘Me Too’ movement in Pakistan?
Baaghi TV: Shireen Mazari, the Minister For Human Rights is blatantly siding with the mafia in Pakistan that is currently misusing the ‘Me Too’ movement, which was initiated in 2006 to publicize allegations of sex crimes.
According to reports, the human rights minister made indirect remarks on Wednesday, targeting the famous singer of the country.
Her words: “Individuals accused of sexual harassment should not be given awards until their cases are concluded in the courts. I want to tell President Arif Alvi: We as a state should disown individuals suspected of harassment. If women who come forward with harassment allegations don’t cover their head or are progressive, the society assumes that they are lying.”
She expressed these views while addressing a conference at the President House on Wednesday.
Ministry of Human Rights shared the post on their official Twitter page:

In an apparent reference to the sexual harassment case filed by singer Meesha Shafi against Ali Zafar, Mazari went on to say that harassment cases face unusual delays in the Supreme Court because the accused use their influence and power.
However, last week, Baaghi TV had reported that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has convicted singer Meesha Shafi and eight others of running a deviant campaign against singer Ali Zafar on social media, prompting the trial court to initiate proceedings against them.
We also reported that the FIA’s Cyber Crime Lahore Wing filed an interim challan before the Special Judge Central Court in the FIR filed on a complaint filed by Mr Zafar. According to the available oral and documentary evidence, Shafi has been found guilty in this case.
The FIA also said that Ms Shafi had made inaccurate and false allegations of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar on April 19, 2018, but she had previously failed to present any witnesses in support of her allegations
Looking at what Shireen Mazari stated, we can well imagine who she is trying to support? Why is she involved with the culprits of our society or even endorsing them?
On the other hand, Nighat Dad, Meesha Shafi’s lawyer, who has been caught operating an illegal NGO, tweeted on her Twitter handle on being honoured to be invited by the President to discuss women empowerment.
Honored to be invited to the president house by President @ArifAlvi to discuss women empowerment & legal rights. Thanks to @MalBokhari for organising this important consultation on women empowerment & looking forward to seeing the recommendations being acted upon by the govt. pic.twitter.com/sbKJrbITiG

Meanwhile, many people on social media have supported Ali Zafar and maligned the women who try to play on their ‘women card’.
A user grilled the minister on what she was doing at the event.
What's Ms Mazari doing there; she's good for nothing!

Many targeted Meesha Shafi’s lawyer to stop displaying their women card.

It is pertinent to note here that in September this year, President Arif Alvi had awarded singer Ali Zafar, with Pride of Performance.

Nevertheless, Ali Zafar has always maintained that he will come forth with the truth every time in the court with facts and figures.
Stop threatening! Do as many cases as you want. I will expose the truth every time in court with facts and evidence! Bring it on ! And come back to Pakistan first and then speak about the issues of Pakistan. https://t.co/blUwgXRyTp
