DSP martyred in crossfire

Wednesday, July 8th: According to a report by Baaghi TV, a DSP was martyred in a shootout between police and convicts in Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

A police encounter took place between police and convicts in Kalu Khan Ahad Kalay area of Swabi. DSP Swabi was martyred in the encounter.

Confirming the incident, DPO Swabi Imran Shahid said that police officer DSP Allama Iqbal was martyred by the accused during a raid on the hideouts of the accused in Kalukhan area.

A retaliatory firing by the police killed one accused Naseer who was wanted by the police in several cases while his accomplice escaped with injuries. A search operation has been launched in the area to nab the absconding accused.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has expressed regret over the martyrdom of DSP, IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also expressed regret over the incident.
