24th June: Dubai, a tourist’s dream, a place full of exotic things to do, not just malls to go too but the best of the best malls, the world’s only 7-star hotel; Burj Al Arab and the tallest building Burj Al Khalifa and so many more record-breaking architectural monuments are found in Dubai.
It must be hard to believe that Dubai was a barren desert decades ago by looking at how far it has come and how much more it plans to evolve.
We often hear about ridiculous plans Dubai has for in-store and just like all those it has come up with an unbelievable idea that to some seems impossible to achieve and others might call it a scene from a movie, but Dubai has the aim of accomplishing all such ideas.

Kleindienst Group, which is developing ‘The World Islands’ off the coast of Dubai, announced the start of a 1-kilometer “Raining Street” at its Heart of Europe project.
This means that Dubai is creating a street where it will rain all the time! The idea is to provide artificial rain to the visitors falling from the ceiling, giving the impression that it’s raining.
It says temperatures, which rise above 40°C in the summer across the UAE, will be kept to 27°C, allowing visitors to remain comfortable while outdoors.

A representative said the intensity of the rain will be adjustable with a “downpour, a breeze or moderate rainfall depending on the weather”. In the summer season “you could expect a heavy rainfall”.
The extraordinary idea was inspired by Camillo Sitte, an Austrian architect, who proposed to build cities where everything was within walking distance.
With temperatures going as high as 40 and 50 degrees, people will not be able to walk outside comfortably hence there needs to be a controlled temperature area to make the walk pleasurable.

“The technology ensures that as soon as the temperature goes above 27 degrees Celsius on the island, cold water in the form of rain will fall from the top of the buildings through concealed pipes.”
The rainy street will be located on Main Europe Island, next to the Portofino family hotel, Marbella hotel, and the Cote d’Azur resort.
