In the presidency of Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza with three other member of commission heard a case related to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) local government elections.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa special secretary to local government Abid Kakakhel and the secretary of local government was there present before the commission in the hearing.
The chief election commissioner asked questions form the KP government officials about the progress for the notification of the local government elections.
The secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for local government answered that the our government is still working on formulating rules regulations for the reserved and technocrats seats in the Local body Government Act.
Chief commissioner of election commission Justice Raza said the local government is already late because of work on local government act by KP.He added it looks like the provincial authorities do not want to give powers to the local bodies’ representatives.
