Lahore, 9th March: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected the plea made by PTI’s minister for a stay over the victory notification of PPP’s Yousaf Raza Gillani.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, ECP has rejected the plea seeking a stay on the victory notification of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani as a Senator on Tuesday.

Baaghi TV has reported that the victory of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani was challenged by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) minister Ali Nawaz Awan.

According to reports, during the hearing of former premier’s son Ali Haider Gillani’s video scandal, PTI lawyer Barrister Ali Zafar, Parliamentary Leader for Railways Farrukh Habib and member of National Assembly (MNA) Kanwal Shauzab appeared before the commission and recorded their arguments.

Barrister Ali Zafar claimed that rigging was done through money and party tickets during the Senate elections. He further informed that evidence of rigging was found a day before the elections.

Punjab’s member of ECP said that the PTI lawyer has already provided the transcript of the leaked video.

According to reports, ECP’s Punjab member asked about making those who were offered money as a party in the case over which, Barrister Ali Zafar said that they cannot be made party but the court can call them as witnesses.

Punjab member said that the one who takes a bribe and the one who gives it, both are accused. ECP directed the PTI leaders to organize all the pleas in a petition and submit it again with the electoral body.

ECP further directed that those who took the money and those who gave must be made respondents in the petition.
