Lahore: Baaghi TV wishes Eid-ul-Fitr to the nation! Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Sunday. According to reports, the Central Ruwit-e-Hilal Committee has announced to observe Shawwal moon and celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday (May 24). done

Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said, “The information was clear at most places in Pakistan. There were reports of moon sightings from Pasni. There were also reports of moon sightings from other places.”

Earlier, a meeting of the Central Route Hilal Committee was held at the Karachi office of the Meteorological Department under the chairmanship of Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman. The meeting was also attended by members of the Route Hilal Committee and experts of the Meteorological Department.

Meetings of Zonal Committees of Ruwit-e-Hilal were also held in other provinces of the country.

It may be recalled that Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry had said that according to the lunar calendar prepared by his ministry, Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated in Pakistan tomorrow (May 24).

During a press conference in Islamabad, he said that the moon could be seen in Sanghar, Pasni, Jwani, Badin and Thatta between 7:36 am and 8:14 am today.

The Minister for Science and Technology said that Mufti Popalzai has announced to celebrate Eid in Peshawar tomorrow though there is no possibility of moon sighting in Peshawar even today.

Reacting to the announcement of Eid date by Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said that the Shariah decision of Eid would be taken by the Central Ruwit Hilal Committee in Karachi today.

Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said that Shariat and religion trust in the sight and martyrdom of the moon, science and modern tools can be used for the sight and martyrdom.

It should be noted that the meteorological department had shown less chance of seeing the moon today.
