Lahore, 1st June: The deadly coronavirus that erupted in Wuhan, China in Dec 2019 has spread rapidly across the world.

According to Baaghi TV, COVID-19 is spreading in Pakistan with full speed with most of the cases in Sindh.

However, a summary has been sent to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar by Health Secretary Capt. (Retd) Usman stating that the coronavirus has spread to a dangerous extent in Lahore and no residential area or town is safe from the epidemic.

The Punjab Health Department had on May 15 sent a summary to the Punjab Chief Minister regarding the status of coronavirus cases in Lahore.

In the summary sent to the Punjab Chief Minister, it was said that samples of citizens were taken from Corona hotspots, residential and workplaces.

In the summary it was revealed that in all the samples, the test was 6% positive, in some towns it was 7.14%. The summary estimates the actual number of new corona patients in Lahore is 670,000.

The summary revealed that this proportion is dangerously high in Lahore, there is no residential area or town where the disease is not present.

The Ministry of Health says that initially the growth rate of cases was slow but now it is increasing rapidly. Corona cases in Pakistan are expected to reach one lakh with the most cases likely to erupt in June.

The health secretary said that regular testing was done before the recommendations were made, adding that it was difficult to predict new patients as the disease had intensified in recent days.

The technical working group of the health department has recommended a complete lockdown of 4 weeks in Lahore. It has been recommended that people above the age of 50 should be kept in quarantine or isolated. Capt. (Retd) Usman said the recommendations were sent by experts.

On the other hand, according to the provincial health department, the majority of those infected with the coronavirus in Punjab are young people.

According to the government report, even among the youth, more boys than girls are infected with the virus. 17,000 men across the province are confirmed coronavirus patients, while there are 26,000 suspected cases.

There are 6,000 certified and 8,000 suspected female patients. Corona’s victims include people between the ages of 16 and 30, numbering 7,346.

7,102S people between the ages of thirty-one and forty-five are infected with COVID-19, 4,952 between the ages of forty-six and sixty-one, and 2,209 people between the ages of sixty-one and seventy-five are infected. The lowest number of corona patients in Punjab is over 75 years of age, numbering only 314.

In Punjab, there are a total of 25,056 cases of corona and 475 people have lost their lives.
