FBR ordered to decide Maryam’s application against levy

LAHORE, Sept 26 (APP)::The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday ordered Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to decide Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz’s application against Income Support Levy within 30 days.

Justice Ayesha A Malik heard the petition filed by Maryam Nawaz against Income Support Levy.

Maryam Nawaz through her petition submitted that FBR had issued a notice to her for payment of Rs 1.2 million as Income Support Levy for year 2013.

She submitted that the appeal was pending with the commissioner against the notice but the stay would expire in coming days.

She submitted that FBR would initiate proceedings for recovery of the levy after the expiry of the stay.

She pleaded with the court to direct commissioner for early decision of
the appeal besides stopping FBR from recovery till the final decision of the appeal.
