Fear of being overthrown, secret meetings between Arab and British royal families: Report
During the Arab Spring in 2011, the royal families of the Arab countries held 200 secret meetings with the British royal family in order to devise a strategy to avoid public protests in the Arab countries.
The website Declassified UK reports that, in the last ten years, every fortnight, Arab royal families met with the British royal family. Bahrain’s royal family held the most meetings, followed by Saudi Arabia’s Al Saud family.

Most meetings were arranged by the British government. Along with the British royal family, British ministers also held regular meetings with Arab royal families. According to the report, most of the meetings with the British royal family were attended by members of the Arab royal family who were accused of serious human rights violations.
Most meetings were held with Nasir bin Hamad al-Khalifa, the son of the King of Bahrain, who was accused of being involved in violence against Democrats. He had several meetings with the British government and the British royal family. Most of these meetings took place at the British Queen’s Royal Palace in Windsor.

According to a report released by Declassified UK, documents show that at least six times, when pro-democracy protesters accused the British royal family of supporting Arab kings, they were officially tortured. In order to save their kingdom, the Arab royal families arrested many democratic leaders and tortured their families.
Khalfan al-Badawi, a pro-democracy leader in Oman, said that in 2012, Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed sent a special gift of special breeds of horses to London for the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
