Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claims to have made a significant progress in the investigation against Shaheen Air International.
According to details, the FIA has expanded its investigation against Shaheen Air International and intensified its operations for causing losses worth Rs 1.4 billion to the national exchequer.
The FIA has registered a case in the corporate crime circle on the request of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and also arrested Yawar Mahmood while cases have also been registered against nine directors of the Shaheen Air.

It is worth-mentioning that Shaheen Air had suspended its flight operations from October 2018 as the private airliner was a defaulter of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), CAA, and Pakistan Customs.

It is interesting to also note the role of CAA in this entire matter. CAA should have stopped the airline from operating when the amount defaulted exceeded the limit. However the airline continued operating and the amount kept on piling up. Thus finally it came into the billions and the airline owners fled the country.
