Lahore, 7th August: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken two journalists Amir Mir and Imran Shafqat into their custody in separate operations.
According to details, FIA picked up Amir Mir, brother of famous anchor Hamid Mir, when the latter left his home for office Saturday morning. Sources inform that FIA took the journalist and his car.
While anchor Imran Shafqat was also arrested from Lahore today morning by the FIA officials. Officials claim that Imran Shafqat is accused of airing a program on his YouTube channel regarding the wife of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to details, journalist Amir Mir has worked in senior positions in different news channels and later on he created his own social media channel called ‘Googly News’ where various news and their analysis are presented.
According to media reports, usually, the anti-establishment statements are also openly expressed at the Googly Channel owned by anchor Amir Mir.

It is to be noted that a while ago, senior journalist and V-logger Imran Shafqat was also abducted from his residence in Lahore today.

Imran Shafqat is a journalist who has been associated with various channels as a reporter while nowadays he gives analysis and comments on his YouTube channel named ‘Tellings with Imran Shafqat’.

Meanwhile, anchorperson Hamid Mir reported on Twitter today that his brother Amir Mir was arrested by the FIA Cyber Crime Wing early in the morning.

FIA summons journalist Asad Toor for investigation
Hamid Mir did not say whether he used to make biased analysis and comments against the agencies or whether he was a source of news that was not allowed, but did say that his laptop and phone were also seized by the FIA.

Earlier, journalist Asad Ali Toor also tweeted that after the abduction of Imran Shafqat, there were reports of the disappearance of Googly News owner Amir Mir, who has been missing for the past five hours and has not been contacted. According to the family, they contacted all possible sources but could not find out anything.

Meanwhile, PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also took to his Twitter account and condemned the arrest of both the anchors, Amir Mir and Imran Shafqat by FIA officials.
