Firdous seeks media help in highlighting Govt achievements in 2020

ISLAMABAD, Dec 25 (APP):Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Wednesday said that 2020 would be the year of providing relief to the general public after economic revival of the country.

Addressing APP Award Distribution Ceremony here, the special assistant said that 2020 should be the year of fulfilment of promises made in the manifesto of PTI and sought media role in highlighting the achievements made by the present government.

Dr Firdous said that restructuring process in Associated Press of Pakistan had been initiated to make it a modern and self-reliant institution. She expressed the hope that after the restructuring, APP would emerge as a leading news agency of the world.

She said that December 25 was the birthdays of Hazrat Isa (AS) and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad ALI Jinnah. She said that Quaid-e-Azam with his commitment and dedication changed the map of the sub-continent and dream of Pakistan became a reality.

She said Prime Minister Imran Khan, following the vision of Quaid-e-Azam, not only challenged the status quo but also succeeded in defeating it in 2018 elections.

She said Imran Khan had proved himself as a true leader instead of a traditional politician. The special assistant said that a traditional politician tries to please all with focus on next elections but the true leader focuses on betterment of the next generations and makes difficult decisions irrespective of their negative impact on vote bank. She said that minorities did play an important role at the time of creation of Pakistan and in nation building process as well.
