Fire breaks out in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, 9th August: A fire broke out in a building in a busy area of Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, the blazes os smoke came out from a 9-story building on Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street.

The incident took place just before 2 pm today as firefighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

As per reports from UAE, The fire is understood to have begun in Sahil Al Madina Restaurant before it spread to the first-floor balcony.

The cause of the fire is not clear yet but videos posted online showed a small explosion coming from the first-floor balcony above the restaurant after the fire had started.

The ground floor of the building is occupied by small businesses while residents live on the floors above. The residents were evacuated on time by the watchman who also informed the police about the fire.

The fire was extinguished and the site completely cooled at around 3.30 pm. The fast action prevented the fire from spreading to a neighboring Baqala. There has been no injury reported so far.

Fire breaks out at Haramain Rail Station in Jeddah

This marks the second fire in a residential building in Abu Dhabi over the past three days. On Friday night a 12-storey building in the Al Nahyan area was also caught on fire and residents were evacuated immediately.
