ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar has said that we have made arrangements to bring back Pakistanis stranded abroad. Flight operations will begin from tomorrow to bring back people whose ticket bookings were cancelled by foreign airlines.

During a press conference, Ghulam Sarwar said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to operate 18 flights to bring back stranded Pakistanis.

He added that we will also take strict action against the airlines who cancelled the ticket bookings.

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has already issued notices to five foreign airlines for creating difficulties for the passengers by cancelling their flights to Pakistan.

These five foreign airlines include Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways and flydubai. They have been given a deadline to report and resolve the problems they have created for the passengers by July 8.

The CAA spokesperson said that the aviation authority has the right to question the airlines for causing inconvenience and financial losses to the passengers.

CAA also advised the authorities to facilitate the affected passengers on the flights of the same airlines or other airlines to reach Pakistan. They also directed the authorities to provide hotel accommodation.
