FM Qureshi Addresses Non-Aligned Movement, Demands Independence of Kashmir and Palestine
Baaghi TV: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi attended mid-term ministerial conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). He addressed non-aligned movement, demanding independence of Kashmir and Palestine.
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi attended an online ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) hosted by the Republic of Azerbaijan. The meeting focused on “multifaceted efforts to address global challenges.”
In his video statement, the Foreign Minister emphasized the important role of the neutral movement in promoting peace and development and responding to current global challenges, including the Covid 19 epidemic. He called for strict adherence to the principles and goals of the United Nations Charter and the values of multilateralism and solidarity to advance the common goal of sustainable peace and development.
The Foreign Minister said that an integrated strategy was needed to fully control the epidemic and accelerate economic growth. He highlighted the need for recovery from the Corona crisis, equal distribution of vaccines in developing countries and restoration of the movement’s role.
The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to the NAM and its fundamental principles, adding that Pakistan “will continue to support the movement’s efforts for peace, equality, co-operation and the well-being of all.”
The Foreign Minister expressed deep concern over the continued denial of the independence of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as well as Palestine in violation of various resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
He called on the international community and the NAM to work for a just, peaceful and prompt resolution of these conflicts in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.
