Former Prime Minister accuses of rigging in the elections

Lahore, 16th November: Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the federation has taken the rights of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Baaghi TV: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that unfortunately, we have not learned anything in the last two and a half years. He claims that GB government funds were withheld and pre-poll rigging had already begun. Scientific methods were used to defeat our candidates, GB elections violated the code of conduct.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi further said that the election was postponed for rigging, no party in the GB was able to get a majority. The federal government promised to provide a fund of Rs 200 billion for the election campaign.

Abbasi said that now Gilgit-Baltistan will form the government through independent candidates. Despite the rigging, the future of Gilgit is dark today.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the people of PTI whom no one knew got successful in Gilgit-Baltistan.

It is to be noted that the initial results of the Gilgit-Baltistan are out and the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has taken the maximum seats.

According to unconfirmed unofficial results of 23 seats, the independent candidate won 7 seats and the PPP won 4 seats. PML-N won 2 seats and PTI’s ally MWM won one seat.

 

Former PML-N and PPP chief ministers Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman and Mehdi Shah have also lost the elections. The PTI’s position to form a government in Gilgit-Baltistan has become stronger.
