Lahore: The funeral prayers of martyred Assistant Sub Inspector Muhammad Abubakar who was brutally tortured few day back by the violent protestors of a proscribed organization at Sadukhi area, were offered today at District Police Lines Qilla Gujjar Singh. The injured ASI Abubakar was since then admitted and under treatment at Jinnah Hospital but could not recover and died today. Minister State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan, IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Information Hasaan Khawar, CCPO Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, DIG Operations Lahore Sohail Chaudhary, DIG Investigation Shariq Jamal, SSP Administration Mubashir Maken, SSP Operations Ismail Kharak and other senior police officers and Jawans of the force attended the funeral. The brother and heirs of Shaheed ASI Muhammad Abubakar and his family members also participated in the funeral ceremony. Special prayers were also offered for the departed soul of ASI Muhammad Abubakar at this occasion whereas a contingent of police presented guard of honour to the martyred ASI as well. IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar along with other senior officers laid flowers wreath at the dead body of the Shaheed ASI. IG Punjab, CCPO Lahore and other senior police officers met with the brother and other family members of Shaheed Muhammad Abubakar and assured them complete cooperation from Lahore Police in every respect. The CCPO Lahore said that the brave Jawans of Lahore Police sacrificing their lives in the line of duty are the real face and torch bearer of great traditions of Lahore Police. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar informed that as many as six police officers and officials of Lahore Police including ASI Abubakar, Head Constable Muhammad Ayub, Constables Muhammad Afzal, Khalid Javed, Muhammad Imran and Shafqat Ali have laid their lives in the line of duty during brutal torture of mobsters of defunct organization this year. The sacrifices and martyrdom of Jawans of Lahore Police is an expression of their commitment to their duty that each and every Jawan of Lahore Police is ready for any sacrifice for the safety of life and property of people,Ghulam Mahmood Dogar added. The CCPO Lahore further said that the martyrdom of Jawans of Lahore Police is a visible message to the anti social elements that our morale is even more high and it proves that we are ready every time to sacrifice even our precious lives for the country and protection of people. Later, the dead body of martyred ASI Abubakar was departed for his final burial to his native area Dakkhana Khas Gamyana district Jhang with complete Police protocol. Shaheed Abubakar had joined Lahore Police as constable in October 1990. The martyred police ASI has left behind a widow and two daughters as his heirs.
