Lahore: The funeral prayers of martyred Constables Adil Hussain and Abad Ali of today’s early morning police encounter with two unknown accused persons at Manga Mandi Bypass area were offered today at District Police Lines Qilla Gujjar Singh. Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani, CCPO Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, DIG Investigation Shariq Jamal, DIG Operations Suhail Chaudhary, DIG Security Mehboob Rashid, SSsP, divisional SsP, brothers and other family members of the martyred Constables and a large number of Police Officers and Jawans attended the funeral. Special prayers were offered for the departed soul of Shaheed constable Adil Hussain and Abad Ali at this occasion whereas a contingent of police presented guard of honour to the martyred constable as well.
IG Punjab Inam Ghani, CCPO Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, DIG Investigation Shariq Jamal, DIG Operations Suhail Chaudhary laid flowers wreaths on the coffins of the Shaheed Constables. Senior police officers also gave shoulder to the Janaza of the martyred constables. Later, the dead bodies of martyred constables were departed for their final burial to their native areas in custody of police officers with complete protocol. IG Punjab Inam Ghani, CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar and other senior police officers met with the brothers and other family members of shaheed constables and assured them complete cooperation from Punjab Police in every respect. According to the FIR of the incident registered at police station Manga Mandi, police personnel tried to stop two suspicious persons riding a motor bike at Manga Raiwind Road canal bridge area. The bikers, instead ran away towards Manga Mandi. The constables of Muhafiz Squad Adil Hussain and Abad Ali deputed at Talaab Srai were informed about the suspects reaching near them. The constables tried to stop the suspected criminals who started straight firing at police party. Constable Abad Ali received bullet injury at his chest and died on the spot whereas constable Adil Hussain got shot on his head and was being shifted to the Jinnah Hospital but he scummed to the injuries on the way and embraced martyrdom. While talking to the media men after the funeral prayers, IG Punjab Inam Ghani expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives of police personnel and said that more than 1500 brave Jawans of Punjab Police have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty to ensure safety and security of the citizens. He said that these valuable sacrifices are the source of survival of the nation and martyrdom of Jawans of Punjab Police is an expression of their commitment to their duty that each and every Jawan of Police is ready for any sacrifice for the safety of life and property of people. IG Punjab Inam Ghanni reiterated his resolve not to leave any stone unturned for the arrest the criminals involved in this heinous act of killing policemen. Inam Ghanni said such incidents make the morale of Police even more high to serve the community with passion and deligence. He said that department will never leave the families of martyrs alone and ensure their complete welfare as it is our mission and moral duty to look after the needs of the family members of martyrs. CCPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar on this occasion said that constables Adil Hussain and Abad Ali were assets of Lahore Police and now the total number of martyrs of Lahore Police has reached to 324 after this sad incident. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said that the martyrdom of Jawans of Lahore Police is a strong message to the criminals and anti social elements that we are ready round the clock to sacrifice even our precious lives for the country and protection of people. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said that special teams have been made to trace out the culprits involved in this heinous incident. Resident of Tehsil Chuniyan district Kasur, forty years old martyr Abad Ali had joined police force as constable in the year 2006 whereas Adil Hussain, resident of Mohlanwal Multan Road Abad Ali joined force in 2017. Abad Ali has left behind him a widow, two sons and two daughters while Syed Adil Hussain has left behind only a widow.
