General Bajwa in talks with Irani Chief: ISPR

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Bajwa has reportedly called the Chief of the Armed Forces of Iran, Major General Bagheri.

According to reports of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, has expressed concern on the recent terrorist attack on the Pakistan security forces resulting in the martyrdom of six security personnel near the the Pak-Iran border.

According to the ISPR, the Commanders have resolved to enhance security measures on either side of the border. COAS Bajwa said that Pakistan has started fencing the border but will be requiring a mutual bilateral cooperation to ensure security on the border as well as to combat the smuggling activity which is also used by terrorists and Narco traffickers for covering their movements.

According to ISPR, the Commanding officers of both the states further discussed the COVID-19 situation and the need to improve border terminals to address such an issue.

According to ISPR, the COAS reiterated that Pakistan’s desire for regional peace and stability on the basis of mutual respect, non-interference and equality, respectively.
