GoP to Cut Down Duties on Mobile Phone Imports

Government of Pakistan (GoP) has started considering regulatory duty reduction on mobile phone imports.

Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar, in his tweet, mentioned a reduction in regulatory duty on mobile phone imports.

“The govt will eliminate smuggling in this sector but at the same time keep taxes low to channelize this huge informal sector towards the formal and documented, said the federal minister.

The DIRBS system that ensures that non tax paid/smuggled phones are deactivated after the given time shall continue to remain in force.
