Governor greets womenfolk for their role in nation building

Lahore: Punjab Governor, Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, in his message on International Women Day said that he congratulates all women on this occasion, who are playing a vital role in the progress and prosperity of the country.

He said that women are working shoulder to shoulder with men in every field and proving their mettle. The present government has done effective legislation to empower the women. He said that women are ahead of their male counterparts in the field of education, adding that as a Chancellor of universities, he has observed that girls have outshined boys in education and are bagging more gold medals and distinctions as compared to the boys. He further said that he also pays tribute to daughter of Muslim Ummah, Muskan Khan, who confronted extremist Hindus and raised voice for her right on this day. He also mentioned the Kashmiri and Palestinian women and said that they are fighting on the fore front for independence and are pride of Muslim Ummah, adding that Kashmir and Palestine will be liberated one day. He said that empowered women bring positive change in the country and play pivotal role in the progress and prosperity of the country.

Meanwhile, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that maintaining law and order in the country is the priority of the government. The government is making decisions based on national interest and not political . Judicial reforms are necessary for the country to provide timely justice for which the federal government is working to strengthen all institutions, including democracy and parliament in the country. More than 1500 projects of Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority have been completed to provide clean drinking water to the people. He stated this during meeting with MPA Saeed Ahmed Saadi. He also addressed the inaugural function of Habib Ur Rehman Science College and Oath-taking ceremony of Tandiya wala Bar Association on monday. Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Makhdoom Tariq Al Hassan, Chairman Anti-Narcotics Punjab Haji Muhammad Ramzan and others were also present on this occasion .
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that besides judiciary and police, lawyers are also playing an important role in the delivery of justice to the people. He further said that the present government has been working on the measures, including reforms in the judiciary and police, to provide speedy justice to the people from day one, adding it is necessary to provide timely justice to the people to strengthen the country. He urged the lawyers to fulfill their responsibilities as lawyers to ensure justice and timely decision of cases.
Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that for development and stability of any country, it is necessary to strengthen the institutions because strengthing the institutions will strengthen the country. He said that the present government has an unequivocal policy that we have to rid the institutions of political interference as well as strengthen the institutions for which all resources are being utilized. The rule of law and order in the country will be ensured in every case, he added. He said that the priority of the government is to give every one his due right.
Makhdoom Tariqul Hassan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, said that since Prime Minister Imran Khan has come into power, his mission was solely for the development and prosperity of the people and to strengthen the country. He said that the federal and Punjab governments are committed to provide basic facilities to the people, adding that various development projects have been initiated to provide relief to the masses. Health Insaf Card and Ehsaas Program are exemplary projects of the government, he added.
