Govt announces ban on travel and tourism during Eid holidays

Lahore, 27th April: With the ongoing pandemic wave, the government has issued new restrictions to be imposed before Eid.

A circular has been issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the direction of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).

NCOC has issued orders to close all tourist destinations from May 8 to May 16 keeping in view the rapid increase in coronavirus cases in the country.

NCOC has decided to shut down all tourist places, public parks, hotels and shopping malls during the Eid holidays.

Authorities have also decided to close the public transport and only the citizens of Gilgit-Baltistan will be allowed to visit their areas.

NCOC further issued orders to close the roads leading to Northern Areas, Murree, Swat, Galliyat and Sea View.

NCOC has also issued SOPs related to I’tikaf, Shab-e-Qadr and Eid prayers for the people to follow them strictly.

NCOC had decided that people will be provided with a continuous supply of electricity during the Eid holidays.
