Govt drops electricity bombshell on consumers

ISLAMABAD, September 01 (Online): Government has dropped electricity bombshell on the people by scaling up electricity tariff 84 paisas per unit.

National Power Regulatory Authority  (NEPRA) has accorded approval  to this enhancement in power tariff. This increase will shift additional burden of Rs 12 billion to  the consumers.

Petition from CPPA in connection with enhancement in monthly fuel adjustment surcharge came up for hearing before NEPRA which approved increase to the tune of paisas 84 per unit .  The tariff was increased under fuel adjustment surcharge head.

This raise in power tariff will not be applicable to K-Electric.
