Govt taking measures for public development in South Punjab

Lahore: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that successive governments have been neglecting South Punjab in past but the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is taking measures for public development and prosperity in South Punjab.

The problems of people will also be solved at their doorsteps through the new local government system. He said that he will inaugurate 20 more projects of Punjab Aab Pak Authority for South Punjab today. Governor Punjab was addressing a ceremony held in his honor at the residence of renowned businessman and social activist Jalaluddin Rumi on Tuesday. He also talked to media after offering condolences over death of mother of MNA Tahreek-e-Insaf Tahir Iqbal and sister in law of Chaudhary Ishfaq. Chairman PAPA Dr Shakeel Ahmad and others were also present on the occasion.
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that the main cause of problems like inflation and unemployment in the country is the result of failed policies of previous governments. He further said that, In addition to providing basic facilities like education, the government is also providing relief through projects like Ehsas program and with each passing day, more relief will be provided to the people. Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that, in the past politicians from South Punjab have had held important government positions, but the problems of South Punjab have always been increasing instead of decreasing. Governor Punjab said that The Kisan Card is also a gift of the government, adding that the government is also working for equal development in Punjab. He further said that in order to strengthen the federation, the four provinces must be strong. He stressed that provision of justice to the masses is the first priority of the government.
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that more than 200 projects of Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority are already being expedited for providing safe drinking water to the people of South Punjab. He said that these projects will be completed by March 2022 and, today, twenty more projects are being inaugurated, adding that clean drinking water would be provided to the people of South Punjab in cities and villages without any political discrimination.
Referring to the local body elections in Punjab, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that for the first time in Punjab the powers of new local body system is being transferred to the lower level and the new local body system will not only strengthen democracy, but also solve the problems of the people at their doorsteps.
