Greece suffers worst heatwave in over three decades

Athens:Due to climate change, cold country like Greece is experiencing the worst heatwave in history.

According to media reports, Greece is experiencing its worst heat wave in thirty years, with temperatures in some regions of the country hitting 45 degrees Celsius by the end of this week.

Carikos Mitsutakis, Greece’s prime minister, said the country’s deadliest heatwave in 1987 killed over a thousand people and that the government had advised citizens not to leave their houses unnecessarily.

According to reports in the media, forest fires in Greece are spreading quickly as a result of the hot weather, and have already consumed more than 7,004 acres, the most of which were pine, apple, and olive groves. Wildfires are raging in Greece, with visitors fleeing the most dangerous hiking location, the “Valley of the Butterflies.”

It’s worth noting that the highest temperature ever recorded in Europe was 48 degrees Celsius, which occurred in Athens in 1907.
