Lahore, 13th July: Funeral prayers of the Hockey Olympian Naveed Alam will be offered tonight in Sheikhupura.

Baaghi TV: Funeral prayers of Olympian Naveed Alam, who passed away on Tuesday will be offered at 10 pm tonight at Company Bagh in Sheikhupura.

A statement issued by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) said that Naveed Alam’s funeral prayers will be offered at 10 pm tonight at Company Bagh Sheikhupura.

Hockey legend and former captain Olympian passes away

It is to be noted that Pakistan’s hockey player Naveed Alam was suffering from blood cancer. Naveed Alam was not feeling well for a few days after which he was checked up at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital where he was diagnosed with blood cancer.

As per earlier reports, Alam had undergone chemography treatment yesterday following which he suffered a heart attack. Soon he was shifted to the intensive care unit where he breathed his last today.
It should be noted that earlier Naveed Alam had appealed to the federal and provincial governments to help him financially with the treatment.

It may be recalled that Naveed Alam was the coach of not only the Pakistan Hockey Team but he also coached the China Hockey Team and Bangladesh Hockey Team.
