Hurricane Shaheen: The Most Latest Updates
Hurricane Shaheen has been the most unpredictable so far, in terms of the conditions; the Meteorological Department has issued the sixth alert regarding it.
The alert said that Hurricane Shaheen on the Arabian Navy is turning into a severe hurricane. It has moved west and northwest in the last 6 hours at a speed of 15 km per hour. The typhoon is 400 km from Karachi, 240 km from Ormara and 250 km southeast of Gwadar. The effects of the typhoon are likely to continue in Gwadar, Lasbela and other districts of Balochistan.
Other districts of Sindh including Karachi, Hyderabad and Thatta are likely to experience strong winds and intermittent rains till tomorrow evening. The Met has forecasted that Hurricane Shaheen will move west and northwest by Saturday evening, after which it will move southwest to the Muscat Oman Coast.
The Meteorological Department also gave a notice to the fishermen and said they should avoid going to the high seas until October 3 due to the floods.
