Baaghi TV: After the first meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Legislative Business, Chairman Committee Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi while talking to media said that a 24-member parliamentary committee has been formed in which the government and the opposition, both are represented in both the National Assembly and the Senate.
Today the first meeting of this parliamentary committee was chaired by me.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, “I am very grateful to the members of the opposition for attending the meeting and we had a good conversation.” In which we have decided to sit down with the opposition to discuss various legal issues and move forward knowing their point of view.
One of the important laws that we have to discuss is the NAB law which we have a point of view on, while the opposition has its own point of view. In addition there are some FATF related bills that will be discussed. Opponents of Pakistan, especially India, want to blacklist Pakistan.
When our government came, Pakistan was on the gray list. We are trying to get Pakistan out of FATF’s gray list. For this, we have also enacted legislation and taken some administrative steps. Some more legislation is needed in this regard for which we have drafted.
To this end, it has been decided that tomorrow, through the National Assembly Secretariat, we will present the proposed NAB draft and the FATF draft law to the esteemed members of the Opposition so that they can read it with satisfaction and then on Monday. At five o’clock there will be a second meeting of this parliamentary committee in which we will take this agenda forward.
