Lahore: IG Punjab directed DPO Gujarat to register a case against all officials involved in the incident and arrest them. IGP directed to take strict departmental and legal action against the culprits while fulfilling the legal requirements.
On the direction of IG Punjab, DPO Gujarat has has suspended the staff of CIA and investigation has been started after registering the case whereas, postmortem of the accused is also being conducted. IG Punjab directed that investigation into the incident should be completed keeping in view all aspects and no sympathy should be made to those responsible for this incident. Rao Sardar Ali Khan directed that torture or killing of accused during detention or custody would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He further said that DPO Gujarat should keep in close touch with families of deceased and also ensure delivery of justice on priority basis.
