ISLAMABAD, July 01 (Online Int’l): Islamabad High Court (IHC) while issuing a notice on the petition seeking action against US blogger Cynthia Ritchie for violating visa laws, has called for a reply from the interior ministry by 3rd July.

The court has also directed the fixing of miscellaneous petitions for hearing, along with the central petition seeking court orders to deport Cynthia Ritchie.

PPP Rawalpindi leader Chaudhry Iftikhar had filed a petition through Advocate Tanvir Akhtar.

The counsel for the petitioner told the court that more facts have come to light about the Cynthia Ritchie case and he wants to bring them on the court’s record. The laws for issuing visas to foreigners to enter Pakistan are clear. Those who are issued visas to enter Pakistan have to give details of their residence, stay and work. Those who obtain visit, study, diplomatic, official, military and transit visas have to  provide this information. Visa conditions were violated.

The petitioner has prayed the court to order for initiating action against Cynthia Ritchie for violating visa rules.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case for one week.
