IHC Directs Interior Minister and Secretary to Appear in Person
ISLAMABAD, Sept 07 (Online Int’l): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has expressed annoyance over non-recovery of a missing person Abdul Quddus, a citizen of Islamabad.
The court has directed Interior Minister Ijaz Shah and Interior Secretary to appear before it in person on the next hearing. Attorney General Khalid Javed has also been summoned for providing assistance to the court.
The IHC bench led by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani took up the case for hearing Monday. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked that the federal government has failed in protecting citizens. Tell the Attorney General that problems will not be addressed by closing the eyes. Citizens are being kidnapped from vehicles bearing green-coloured number plates.
He remarked that the Islamabad police have failed. Should we write to the Sindh police for investigation? No policeman has ever written against any agency-wala nor has he made him the accused.
State Counsel Hasnain Haider Thahim, JIT head appeared before the court along with SP Investigation Malik Naeem in the court. SP Investigation Malik Naeem told the court he is heading the JIT on 50 missing persons.
The FIR on the abduction of Abdul Qaddus was registered at Karachi company police station on January 01,2020. The court while summoning the Interior Minister and Interior Secretary adjourned the hearing of the case till September 16.
