Incompetence of Government Responsible for Expensive Electricity: Sherry Rahman

10th February 2021: Sherry Rehman has made a statement regarding NEPRA’s increase in electricity prices.

Commenting on the additional power prices, Sherry Rehman said that NEPRA has increased the price of electricity by Rs 1.53 per unit. The government of destruction has nought but inflation to offer to the public, she said.

The circular energy debt has exceeded Rs 2300 billion. The catastrophic government is burdening the people with billions of rupees every month in terms of fuel adjustment. If the government cannot increase the salaries of the employees, why are the prices being raised? If the employees demand an increase in their salaries, they will be charged with sticks.

But the prices of electricity, gas and petrol will be increased every day. NEPRA should withdraw the anti-people notification.
