India:19 dead and dozens missing in Kerala Flood
India: 19 people found dead in floods in kerala, India after heavy rainfall that caused rivers to flood, cutting off towns and villages.
Numerous houses were washed away with the water and people have become trapped in the district of Kottayam located in the Kerala state.
A Video from Kottayam shows bus passengers being saved after their vehicle was overrun with floodwater.
Many Days of heavy rainfall in Kerala has caused deadly landslides and the Indian military has joined rescue efforts.
Helicopters have been used to bring in supplies and rescue workers to parts of Kottayam district, where people are trapped under debris and broken houses caused by the landslides.
Fishing boats are being used to help evacuate the residents that are trapped in Kollam and other coastal towns affected by the flood.
Many people have also been reported missing and it is feared that the death toll might increase further.
Local residents have joined the rescue teams on Sunday to help remove silt, mud, rocks and fallen trees from the affected regions as the search for survivors still goes on.
Safety centers have been set up in numerous areas across the country.
