India’s Karni Sena turn violent towards ‘Tandav’ makers
Lahore, 25th January: Karni Sena, an Indian organisation based in Rajasthan has announced a reward of Rs1 crore for whoever cuts the tongue of ‘Tandav’ makers.
Baaghi TV: The radical group Karni Sena has turned its attention towards the Amazon Prime show, ‘Tandav’, making it a violent show.
According to reports from the Indian publications, Maharashtra Karni Sena chief Ajay Sengar has offered Rs 1 crore reward to anyone who slits tongue of those who insulted the Hindu gods and goddesses in the web series.
The web series, ‘Tandav’ featuring Saif Ali Khan and Dimple Kapadia has been receiving backlash soon after its release on Amazon Prime.
The star of the show, Saif Ali Khan, has already been given additional security following the backlash.
First, an FIR was registered in Lucknow against the show for allegedly hurting religious sentiments and then another one was filed in Mumbai.
Earlier it was reported that the web series received a lot of criticism from members of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), after which filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar offered an unconditional apology and said that some scenes have been changed in the series.
Sengar said that an apology by the Tandav makers is not enough and will not be accepted.
As per reports, this is not the first time when Karni Sena has resorted to violence. Back in 2019, Kangana Ranaut, the award-winning star of hits such as Queen and Tanu Weds Manu Returns had complained that she had received threats from Rajput Karni Sena over her historical movie ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi.’
