A storm of inflation has taken up utility stores and the prices of various brands of essential commodities have gone up by a significant margin. 

Ghee prices have gone up by Rs 96 per kg and the price of corn cooking oil has gone up from Rs 500 to Rs 870 per liter, an increase of Rs 370 per liter.

According to reports, the price of 1.2 kg of tea whitener has been increased to Rs 40. Small boxes of various sweet dishes including custard and pudding have become expensive by Rs 10. 

The price of 50 grams of face cream has been increased to Rs 40, tissue box to Rs 15, tissue roll to Rs 5 and pepper box to Rs 10.

Prices of Chilli, Garlic, BBQ, Pizza Sauce, Soap, T-Mix, Licot Flu Cleaner have also gone up.

Details of the notification state that the prices will not be applicable to various brands available at utility stores under the Prime Minister’s Relief Package.

Utility stores officials say they sell items at the same prices they buy from different companies.
