Instagram launches ” take a break” option for user’s health #Baaghi

Instagram introduces a new option called “Take a break” to ensure user’s do not take too long scrolling through the platform.

The tool tells users to spend some time off the app to help them take care of their health. The head of Instagram had just recently faced questions from lawmakers regarding its child safety practices, the company is thus introducing abunch of new features for making it harder for users, more specifically teenagers, to adopt habits that could be harmful to their mental health.

Today the company launched its Take a Break tool, which will encourage users to spend some time away from the platform after they’ve been scrolling for a certain period. The feature, will first reach users in the US, the UK, Canada and Australia, and to all users afterwards.
Users can turn on the feature in “Settings” and select if they want to be alerted after using the platform for 10 minutes, 20 minutes or 30 minutes. They’ll then get a full-screen alert telling them to close out of the app, suggesting they take a deep breath, write something down, check a to-do list or listen to a song.
